G'day

Sorry I can't be there - will be busy throwing another prawn on the barbie and swigging a coldie, but here are some theme suggestions:

·         Sailors from a 1950's musical

·         Geriatrics day out from old age home

·         Reptiles

Possible locations (in the midlands):

Buxton - appears to be only one Indian Restaurant (Indian Palace 5, Cavendish Circus, Buxton, Derbyshire SK17 6AT, Tel: 01298 23136) but there are 41 pubs.

Ashbourne - again, appears to be only one Indian Restaurant (Bengal Cottage 9a, Compton St, Ashbourne, Derbyshire DE6 1BX, Tel: 01335 348282) and this time 33 pubs.

Regards from down under

Rob Lancaster

Northerners,

Please advise your availability for the above. Friday 12th would be an alternative.

(I'm assuming those 'cc'd' will not be lucky enough to be in the area to attend).

Main objective is to decide location and theme - worryingly ambitious, but necessary.

Any not attending are welcome to submit proxy votes on themes. Please submit top three themes in order of preference to me prior to Friday 12th.

Candidate themes are:

- those listed in below-linked minutes

+ stern school mistresses (Togle)

+ marge simpsons (me)

+ babies/arab women (Sean - obviously mentally disturbed)

+ belly dancers (Sean returning into the real world)

+ any others that I forgot from the southern sub-committee

+ any that you'd like to propose.

NB: Date is already decided as 26-27/8.

Can Toggle please circ the notes from the Southern Sub-committee meeting asap? Tavrymuch.

Can those actioned (http://www.seens.plus.com/stag/proctor/minutes1.htm) at first meeting pls complete actions/prepare innovative excuses.

Cheers

Markage

Seens,

I think the Chef's or Pilsbury Doughmen theme is still a good one. so yes.

Si,
FYI,  the old Star Trek may have reared its ugly head again. Shall I throw a Pilsbury doughman at them ?

Unfortunately I am in Cardiff fri 12th and weekend, please acceopt my apolgies. I just plain forgot the last meeting, pretty poor I know. Sos.

Some proxy-proxy ideas ... ( cos I  will need to send a proxy to the atual event )

i) I like suggestion of Brides ( could be easy to make wedding dresses, that would be rather special !! )

ii) Or, on a similar theme .... Hen-Do-Birds attire ?? Could dress up like the birds do, with a printed t-shirt, false ttis and l-plates etc.

iii) or failing these, stern school mistresses

iv) Actually, thinking about it, my vote goes for Marge Simpsons.

:)

All,

Given that some of you are hanging on to book summer hols, an ex-committee decision has been taken:

The date is 26-27 Aug. (well, actually, it's 11/4, but you know what I mean). Please put it in your diaries.

Expected attendance is as shown at:

 http://www.seens.plus.com/stag/proctor/attend.htm

+ Lil Andy has now also confirmed. And it's not too late for non-respondents to join the fun.

Apologies to Pete - hopefully you can rearrange the conficting arrangement as you know you look good in a skirt.

Venue (somewhere in Midlands), theme (something female) etc will be decided by committee. And future comms will hopefully be by best man when I've found a pencil to spin.

Cheers

Mark

Right,

As Seens' website is unable to support us all entering our availability onto a master web-chart (what DOES he do with all of his weekends?!), can you pls advise by return email your availability against the dates below. Venue will be Midlands.

19-20/8

26-27/8

2-3/9

9-10/9

The general script is:

Arrive Friday pm, beers, curry

Do something healthy Sat, e.g. walk (obviously after a very UNhealthy b/fast - and that's nothing to do with the United Nations)

Dress up for big night out Sat

Disperse Sun, much the worse for wear.

We'll go with the best fit dates.

Cheers

Mark

All,

Long overdue (hopefully sufficiently so that I never get the job of writing them again), linked are the notes from the 1st Stag Committee meeting.

http://www.seens.plus.com/stag/proctor/minutes1.htm

I shall shortly be gathering availability info and calling a F'bro/Fleet-based sub committee meeting.

Next Full committee meeting may not be 'til May. Maybe. We probably can't therefore afford 'erm, ongoing'-type responses against actions for five or so consecutive meetings, so please progress where actioned. Otherwise, we'll have to redo a proven design such as WPCs in Skipton. May '07 that was then.......

Cheers for now.

Markage

PS: Can Trace pls forward to Ian (cc me so I get email address) and Lou pls copy to Richard (ditto). Without looking at the notes of course.

Subject:                 Calling notice: Stag Committee 15/3, 8pm, Black Bull, Preston

All,

I am making a (these days rare) appearance up North on 15th March and therefore thought it was a good opportunity to get planning underway for this year's big event (what World Cup?!).

Agenda will cover the normal stuff, eg:

- Appointment of secretary

- Name for event

- Date

- Venue

- Theme

- Suitability of proposed Mrs

etc

(NB: For those who haven't been to such planning committees before, don't expect any decisions at this stage - it's generally just inane waffle)

I obviously don't expect people to treck to Preston to endure this inane waffle, but notice is hereby served that you can expect an invite at some point. For those that live in Preston, you have no choice - you know its your duty to be involved in the democratic process.

Distribution is, at this stage, somewhat scattergun and I know I'll get actioned to sort it properly...

Minutes etc will be available via www.Seens.org where details of previous stag events can be viewed.

Anyway, can Prestonites please let me know if they're coming.

Cheers

Mark
